Top Ten Tuesday // Books On My TBR I Predict Will Be 5-Star Reads

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly blog meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl!

This week’s topic is books on my current TBR that I predict will be 5 star reads! This is a difficult topic because I currently have 457 books on my TBR. I try to cut it down sometimes, but there’s just so many books I’d like to get to eventually! I am also a little bit of a harsh reviewer sometimes, so although I think I’ll enjoy a book, I’m not 100% sure it’s a 5 star read. Keep reading to see which one’s I do think have potential to be 5 star reads!

1. Wish You Were Here by Renee Carlino

32620360This one has been on my TBR for literal years! I’ve read one other book by Carlino and I really liked it so I want to try more by her. Unfortunately, my library doesn’t carry this and I have yet to catch it on sale. Hopefully soon!

2. History Is All You Left Me by Adam Silvera

25014114._sy475_I have loved every Silvera book I’ve read., They Both Die at the End being my favorite. I feel like this one isn’t talked about as much as his others, which is maybe why I haven’t read it yet, but I think I’ll love it when I do get around to it!

3. The Edge of the Abyss by Emily Strutskie

26219455I absolutely adore the first novel in this duology, The Abyss Surrounds Us. Who could not love wlw pirates and huge turtle buddies??? I can’t wait to read the finale to this story! I know I love it! Just got to get my hands on it! (Side note, isn’t it frustrating when your library has the first book but not the second one??)

4. Twisted Fate by Danielle Rollins

I really really liked the first book in this series, Stolen Time. I’m a sucker for time travel series and this one had an element in it that was new and entertaining! The cliffhanger killed me a little so I’m SO excited for this release!

5. Felix Ever After by Kacen Callendar

45359713I’m ALWAYS excited for books with beautiful diversity. This book has a main character who is trans, black, and queer. I love love love that! I am also someone who has a lot of marginalized identities and I don’t think I’ve ever read a book that has more that one or the other. I can’t wait for this release!

  1. The Edge of the Abyss looks like such a great read. I love stories about octopuses (octopi? I can never remember the right pluralization of that word) and other sea creatures. 🙂

  2. This prompt was a little harder for me, as well. A book has to be almost perfect for me to hand out five stars. I have not read an Adam Silvera book yet, but I hear great things. I need to pick one up this year!

    Happy Reading!

  3. THANK YOU for making me feel less alone in my 300+ TBR! 😅 I used to be really good at predicting which books would be 5 stars for me, but I’ve found my tastes have changed and grown so much over the last few years that now it’s pretty much impossible to tell. There have been books I’d been sure I’d love that really fell flat, while others completely took me by surprise and blew my mind. Can’t wait to see how all of these pan out for you!
