Top 5 Tuesday // Fictional Friendships

Top 5 Tuesday

Top 5 Tuesday is a weekly tag hosted by Bionic Book Worm! Please head over and check out her blog!

I have been so overwhelmed with school that I haven’t posted a top 5 Tuesday in several weeks. I’m sorry about that!! I’m going to try my best to be better about posting them!

This week’s topic is top 5 fictional friendships! There’s so many great friendships in fiction, so this is gonna be fun!! Line-break-small-02

1. Inej and Nina from Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo

I knew immediately that they would be the first on the list when I saw this week’s topic. I honestly just love their friendship so much! I’m really hoping that the second installment to Kind of Scars has some interaction from them two in it!

2. Evelyn and Harry from The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid

I absolutely love these two. I would almost say they were platonic soulmates and that they were always meant to be in each others lives. (IF YOU HAVEN’T READ THIS BOOK YET YOU REALLY REALLY NEED TO.)

3. Abby and Jax from The Summer of Jordi Perez by Amy Spalding

We get to read about Abby and Jax becoming friends and I loved it so much! They have a new friendship, but by the end of the book I would say Jax is a much better friend than any of Abby’s other friends. Also who doesn’t love the gay girl/bro type guy friendships?

4. Zélie and Amari from Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi

I loved that at the beginning of this book Amari was terrified of Zélie’s kind, but by the end of it she and Zélie are extremely close. Almost like sisters. I’m very excited for the sequel just so I can see how their friendship grows.

5. Blue and Noah from The Raven Boys by Maggie Steifvater

One of my absolute favorite scenes from The Raven Cycle is when Blue tells Noah about her curse and he offers to be her first kiss. Ugh so many emotions!!

There’s so many other friendships I love, but these are the ones that immediately came to mind. Do we have any same couples on our lists? I’d love to know below!!

  2. What a great prompt! I think friendships are far too often overlooked for romances in literature. Even though I feel like it must be too “obvious” an answer, the first one that came to mind for me was Harry and Hermione (probably because I’ve been binge-listening to the Harry Potter And The Sacred Text podcast for the last week).
