Hey guys!! I haven’t been around too much lately. I wanted to make a post to apologize about that.
I started mortuary school in August! It’s been so fun, but it is a lot more work than I thought it would be. I am learning so many fascinating things! For the first time in my entire life I feel like I’ve found a place that I truly belong in. I’ve met some of the most amazing people. People who get my sense of humor! It’s amazing! It is very difficult program though and I hardly have time to read, let alone blog. But I’m still trying my hardest to put out content!!
Okay! Let’s move on to the wrap-up!! I have only read a handful of books since school started, which is disappointed but to be expected.
Favorite reads from August and September:
Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi– ★★★★★ An extremely unique fantasy with African influences. Beautifully strong female characters and a wonderful enemy to lovers romance. Full review to come!
The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas – ★★★★ A story that parallels many stories that sparked the black lives matter movement. Intensely heartbreaking and beautiful. I cannot wait for the movie!
The Perfect Friend by Barbara Copperthwaite– ★★★★ A roller coaster of a thriller that had me guessing so much! It kept me on the edge of my seat until the very last page! I was too afraid of spoilers to write a full review!
Disappointing reads for August and September:
A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab– ★★.5 This was one of the most disappointing reads ever. I wanted to love it SO much because everyone else did. Sadly, it just wasn’t that appealing to me. You can find my full review here.
Summer’s Child by Diane Chamberlain– ★★ This is a mystery style women’s lit book. I had expected a better book since I have loved all of Chamberlain’s other books. It was pretty disappointing though. You can find my full review here.
I really appreciate you guys for sticking by me while I’ve been back at school. My stats have dropped a little, but considering I have no time to blog hop or interact in the bookish community, it’s not bad at all! You guys are loyal and I love that! ❤
